Travelle Kitchen + Bar presents dinner with special guests on Tuesday, Sept. 26

WHAT: In celebration of Grand Cochon – happening on October 1 in Chicago – Cochon555 Chicago 2017 Winner and Travelle Kitchen + Bar Chef Ricardo Jarquin hosts a one-night-only, ticketed collaboration dining experience with past Cochon555 winners including Tim Graham (Twain), Andres Padilla (Topolobampo), Nicole Pederson (Found), Nathan Sears (TheWit Hotel Chicago), and more. Happening for the first time ever in Chicago, Jarquin represents the city in the Grand Cochon, with hopes of being crowned this year’s “King of Porc.” Wine and cocktail pairings will accompany the meal with passed appetizers from each chef. Proceeds from the event benefit Piggy Bank, an organization dedicated to educating farmers and chefs about heritage pigs and breeding.
Chef Ricardo will serve a family-style dinner at Travelle Kitchen + Bar, a casually elegant restaurant, lounge, and bar located inside The Langham, Chicago hotel. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour meet-and-greet, giving diners the opportunity to mingle with the chefs and Cochon555 Founder Brady Lowe. The pork-centric meal commences at 7 p.m., showcasing dishes incorporating pork from Meadowbrook Farm in Benton Harbor, Michigan: the same farm Chef Ricardo worked with to win the Chicago Cochon555 competition. The meal concludes with dessert from Travelle Kitchen + Bar Pastry Chef Scott Green.
In addition to the “Chef Collab” event, Travelle Kitchen + Bar will be open to the public for nightly dinner service. The dinner event kicks-off Grand Cochon, the epic finale to the 14-city touring culinary competition, will crown its “King or Queen of Porc” at Morgan Manufacturing on Sunday evening, October 1st.  Fourteen chefs cook 14 pigs in a winner-takes-all showdown, with the winner crowned the “Queen or King of Porc.” Cochon555 is committed to showcasing heritage breed pigs to new audiences.
