“PUNCH KINGS” BARTENDER COMPETITION
NEW IN 2013

Raise your glass on Sunday, June 2 at ACE Denver – 501 East 17th Ave

The country’s top bartenders compete in the national finals of the first-ever Punch Kings Competition by Cochon 555 and Breckenridge Distillery, Chef Brandon Biederman will have amazing $5.55 food and cocktail specials, play in a fun-spirited Ping-Pong tournament all after the Punch Kings compete. 
  
“With 50 events around the country, celebrating heritage breed pigs under our belts, we wanted to create an event within Cochon 555 to celebrate the Bar Keeps that create the damn fine drinks, which complement the philosophy and flavor of heritage porc,” says Cochon 555 Founder Brady Lowe. “And, who better to bring the Punch Kings Bartender Competition to life than Bryan Nolt and his team at Breckenridge Distillery – BEST OF ALL – the winner joins us in Aspen for all the fun the Classic has to offer!”

SUBMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY FOR 2014

Cochon555’s Fifth Anniversary is kicking-off it’s 10-city culinary tour in New York City February 10th, and that means Cochon’s Official Cocktail Competition called “Punch Kings” is joining the ranks of prestigious events that celebrate and award bar keep for making damn good libations.

Equally exciting, Cochon is happy to announce that Breckenridge Distillery and owner, Bryan Nolt are officially sponsoring this year’s cocktail competition. The theme will be large format punch bowls, rightfully made with Breckenridge Bourbon. The [6] finalist will be invited to Cochon to compete during the VIP experience, they will have 30 minutes to prepare [1] punch bowl featuring [1] bottle of Breckenridge Bourbon and their special ingredients. Upon completion, a recipe will be submitted, and a picture will be taken with their Hipstamatic app on their smartphone to document the masterpiece. All cocktail submissions (punch, recipe, photo) will be reviewed by 6 judges during the the event, the highest score will be take honors. The local winner will be announced during the awards ceremony and will take home a $1000 bottle of bourbon, a trophy and local title. Additionally, the winner will be flown to Denver on the first weekend in June to battle it out against the national finalists, the winner, will be invited to Aspen.

Once all ten winners are announced, they compete against each other in Denver, one will selected Grand Champion AKA The 2013 Punch King. The winner will be invited to prepare the punch at the infamous Grand Cochon during the Food + Wine Classic in Aspen on June 16th.

Make what you like to drink. What would you prepare for a close group of friends coming to your house on Friday night? Cochon is an industry event your judges are just like your peers that happen to leaders in hospitality.
